Had heel pain. Doctor said I have high arch. Suggested I try Birkenstock shoes. Amazon had best prices with style I could live with, so I ordered a pair. They fit just fine, comfortable, and easy to walk in. I might get another pair!
This is my all-time favorite Birkenstock because it hugs the foot better than many of the other styles. Seems they all stretch and then I run out of holes to tighten them and have to take them to the shoeshop to add holes. These seem to hold their shape better than some of the other styles and I like that they don't 'flop' on my feet.
This would have been my first pair of Birkenstocks. I was surprised to see a man-made upper part of the shoe instead of leather; this is what "birko-flor" means. I ordered a size EU 39 because I wear a size 8, however, size 39 is for both 8 and 8.5 women's. Disappointingly, the shoe size is too long for me to wear comfortably.
